Bean Dow's Purple Pod bean is a vigorous climber with 7 to 8-inch-long pods. The interior of the pod is bright green, while its exterior is a deep purple. The seeds are white with a delightful flavor, with incredible tenderness. These snap beans are from Illinois, and when cooked, the pods turn green.
