Red Army amaranth is a darker and more robust cultivar of the already deep maroon Blood Amaranth. Red Army amaranth tastes, looks, and performs nearly identical to Red Garnet amaranth and is able to grow as a quick 8-12 day microgreen crop. Approximately 600,000 Seed Per Pound.

Amaranth Seeds - Red Army

Amaranth seeds are treated just like quinoa and can be milled into flour or left whole to be enjoyed like sesame seeds for baking or raw use. If growing as a microgreen, Red Army amaranth performs best as a soil-based crop rather than growing hydroponically. If intended as a field grain, Red Army amaranth is best when sown directly after final frost. For ornamental, begin indoors 6-8 weeks prior. Plant 2-3 seeds .5 in. deep per pot or 6 in. apart in the garden in warm, loamy, well-drained soil in full sun. Germinates in 4-10 days.
