100 days. The Red Acre cabbage is a hardy garden crop that can be grown in climate zones three through nine. The plant produces medium sized, maroon heads that can liven up any dish. The Red Acre cabbage will need full or partial sun, and the soil will need to remain moist. The Red Acre cabbage needs two inches of water each week while growing. If sowing indoors and transplanting outside, it's best to harden off the plants over the course of a week. When the Red Acre cabbage plants are ready to be transplanted, sow them half an inch deep, with one and a half feet between the plants, in rows with two feet between them. The seedlings will do best in a composted soil. At around one hundred days, the heads should be firm with a diameter of about seven inches.
