Sugar Loaf (Pain de Sucre) endive plants have heads that grow 6-12‚ tall producing medium green leaves that have a texture quite similar to Romaine lettuce. It is best when exposed to cool weather rather than heat, and has a sweeter taste after exposure to frost.
