Growing Organic Ruby Red Swiss Chard Vegetable Garden Seeds

Growing Directions:

Ruby Red Organic Swiss Chard seeds can be sown a couple of weeks before the final frost of the season, in an area with a zone of 6 or above, and full sunlight. These plants thrive in a soil with a pH between 6 and 6.4. Adding a compost and sand to the soil is an excellent idea, as it will balance the pH while allowing the plants to have loose enough soil to grow strong roots. Sow seeds with rows and plants around 18" apart, covering each seed with about ¼" of soil. After around 55 days, these plants are ready to be harvested. For continual growth all summer long, it is beneficial to harvest the stems individually by removing them from the plant. Be careful not to damage the plant itself as you do this.

These greens are Organic, Non-GMO, Heirloom, Open Pollinated with a high germination rate. They are not intended to overwinter. They have a delicious taste similar to that of spinach, but are a part of the beet family, therefore looking very similar to beets.
